Our next full moon is Tuesday October 11th, 2011 at 10:06 pm EST.

It’s known as The Hunter’s Moon, Blood Moon or Sanguine Moon.

The October Full Moon was named by Native North Americans long ago because the moon gave off the perfect light for the native hunters to begin stockpiling meat for the winter months.

With the leaves falling, exposing prey and the animals fattening for winter, the native people took advantage of the season to prepare for their own winter hibernation.

In Northern Europe the October moonlight was said to be ideal for hunters who were shooting migrating birds.

On this Hunter’s Moon while you most likely won’t be hunting prey, do use the energy to fall in love with yourself. The focus of this full moon, in the sign of Aries, is to help you remember and connect with your self love and loveability.
