Eight years ago today June 10, 2015, I left Canada with a suitcase, carry on and laptop to embark upon a digital nomad travelling lifestyle. My sister asked, when will you be back?
I told her, I may not like it and be back in three months or I might love it.
Guess what? I LOVE IT!
Travel has always been a passion of mine.
Over the years I would get increasingly irritated having to come back home after a week or two of travel.
I was and still am self employed, there was no vacation pay and I had clients waiting to see me at home.
I started reading stories of people who travel the world, did their work on the computer or found jobs abroad and I said to myself, I can do that. I want to do that.
So I moved my holistic psychotherapy online way before it became trendy.
Lost clients in the process, people who would not work with me if they could not sit in a chair across from me.
But I gained clients from around the world who were excited about online mindset innerwork spiritual sessions.
After my third visit to the Bosnian Pyramids in 2014, the spirit and soul message I was receiving was clear …. Esther sell everything and get traveling.
I set a June 2015 deadline for the move and began getting rid of possessions,
organizing accounts, paper work etc and creating the right mindset for my travel launch. Mindset was key for me.*
I didn’t tell anyone I was leaving until about 4 months before flight.
I remember my drive to Toronto Airport. So happy that I did it! I was on my way. Manifesting a dream come true. Excited about what was ahead.
First stop was back to Visoko, Bosnia location of the Bosnian Pyramids, my spiritual home. The Pyramid energies were a big influence helping me to create my nomad lifestyle.
The first five years I jetted around a lot. Visiting and living in countries based on intuitive nudges, soul stirrings and personal desire.
I was in Bucharest during the initial covid lockdown and when I was able to travel again I realized I need to be by the sea in small towns and villages, living a slower paced, less consumer driven life.
I do long visits, staying in a country as long as allowed, usually 90 days before I am required to move on.
Slow travel. Getting to know a place, the people and living like a local.
Since Bucharest I have been hanging out by the sea in Croatia, Montenegro, Albania, Greece and Turkey. Loving every minute.
I might get motivated to jet again. There are some wish list places I still want to see but right now I’m good.
Many people have a fantastical vision in their head of this kind of lifestyle. It IS wonderful and it is also not easy. In fact at times it is extremely difficult. It truly is not for the faint of heart and if you are, you will either head back home or buck up quickly.
I don’t know how long I will continue to live the nomad traveling lifestyle. Over the last couple of years I felt a strong desire to settle down again. Grow new roots. Embark on a new chapter. We’ll see how the situation unfolds.
Today I celebrate a dream come true that has given me more than I ever imagined.
I celebrate me for taking a chance, leaving all I knew behind and embarking solo.
A true OG.
I’m proud of myself.
And I continue to love helping others make their dreams come true.
Mindset + Action. It’s my work, my service to others and how I live my life.
Live your dreams!
Love Esther
